Job summary

Beacon Hill Schools is seeking a passionate Lead Teacher for our Athens, Watkinsville, and Bogart locations. You will develop and deliver age-appropriate curricula and create a warm, engaging classroom that supports early learning.

The role emphasizes strong communication with families, ongoing assessment of child progress, and adherence to state licensing requirements; CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development is required.
• Minimum 1-2 years of teaching experience in a licensed childcare setting.
• CPR/First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain).
• Must meet all state licensing requirements, including background checks.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early education.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and staff effectively.
• Ability to create engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and engage physically with children throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes literacy, social skills, and physical development.
• Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to promote positive interactions among students.
• Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.

• Foster a love for learning through creative play, hands-on activities, and structured lessons.
