Job summary

Crossroads YMCA is seeking a Teacher Lead I for the Griffith Family YMCA Preschool program. This role directs classroom activities, implements curriculum, and drives student progress through individualized plans while aligning with YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

The position is limited to the Preschool Program school session and may change with local school trends. Requirements include ECE credential or associate degree, with a preferred bachelor’s in ECE or

Qualifications

• CDA Credential or associate degree in Early Childhood Education is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education with a Kindergarten Endorsement is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred.
• 12 continuing education units annually.
• Certifications due within 30 days: CPR/AED & First Aid and New Employee Orientation.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Implements curriculum within established guidelines.
• Facilitate programming and curriculum within health and safety guidelines.
• Nurtures children through purposeful programming focused on achievement and belonging.
• Supervises the classroom and activities, including overseeing Teacher Assistants.
• Maintains program records including attendance and disciplinary actions.
• Lead classroom activities and provide work instructions.
• Engage parents as volunteers and connect them to the YMCA.
