The role requires guiding a classroom, implementing a dual language supportive program, maintaining proper ratios, documenting learning using Teaching Strategies Gold, and collaborating with families and staff to promote school readiness and child well-being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from an accredited college or university is required.
• Lead Teacher with children ages 3-5: PEL or Gateways ECE level 5 credential while working toward PEL is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement program activities with a team approach.
• Collaborate with support staff, site partners, and supervisor to support classrooms and families.
• Participate in CLASS implementation and monitoring.
• Guide activities for children, maintain appropriate ratios and discipline.
• Attend mandated trainings and set professional development goals.
• Use Teaching Strategies Gold to document school readiness and communicate with families.
• Maintain teacher and child files and ensure safety on playground and in classroom.
• Support dual language learners through Planned Language Approach and family home visits.
