Qualifications

• Age 18 or older with high school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass background checks and trainings (Washington DYF)
• Knowledge of cooking methods and food preparation
• Lift up to 50 pounds and stand long periods
• Experience in institutional or regulated kitchen settings
• Active food worker card
• Understanding of Washington food/bev worker manual
• Fluent in reading, writing, speaking English
• Two+ years in a school/kitchen setting
• Knowledge of allergens and dietary accommodations
• Montessori exposure or Early Childhood background (preferred)
• Spanish language ability (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Place weekly food orders based on attendance and waste analysis
• Receive and verify daily deliveries against orders
• Manage vendor performance and food costs
• Prepare and serve meals following menus and safety guidelines
• Maintain strict hygiene and sanitation in kitchen
• Track inventory, labeling, dating and stock rotation
• Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies
• Provide classroom support and assist with various duties as needed
• Assist with laundry and other site operations as required
• Attend team meetings and contribute to process improvements
