Job summary

Hopkins House Preschool Academy is seeking a Kitchen Aide to support daily meal preparation and maintain a clean, safe kitchen aligned with CACFP standards. The role collaborates with staff, families, and caterers to provide nutritious meals for Young Scholars.

The position requires 1+ year of food handling experience, a valid Food Handler Certificate, and on-site work from 7 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. Benefits are included and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of food handling experience in school, restaurant, or similar setting.
• Active Food Handler Certificate required.
• On-site 7am–3pm, Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the outside caterer to confirm number of meals for daily service and events.
• Receive and verify food deliveries from the catering service.
• Purchase and/or order additional food and supplies as needed.
• Distribute meals to classrooms for breakfast, lunch and snacks.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies in kitchen and classrooms.
• Ensure CACFP menu and meal service standards are met.
• Keep kitchen, dining areas and equipment clean and sanitary; include dishwashing and hygiene protocols.
• Follow food safety regulations and storage best practices.
• Conduct Health Department inspections and maintain compliance records.
• Assist with deep cleaning at term start/end and support events and summer programs.
• Substitute in classrooms during educator breaks or absences as needed.
