Job summary

Community Action in Aroostook, Washington and Hancock Counties is hiring a Kitchen Aide to support the Cook in planning and preparing nutritious meals for children in our centers. You will assist with paperwork for USDA food program and related programmatic documentation, and help coordinate janitorial services as needed.

Responsibilities include transporting meals to pilot sites, maintaining sanitation standards, recording reports, managing inventory, and supporting nutrition education

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience working with preschool children.
• Knowledge of preschool health issues.
• First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Must hold current C.H.R.C.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, preparing, transporting, and serving meals meeting program standards.
• Ensure meals are transported to pilot sites with the cook.
• Follow state and federal guidelines for kitchen sanitation and food storage.
• Record and maintain reports to ensure payment of bills.
• Assist cook in inventory management of equipment and supplies.
• Support nutrition education activities for children and staff.
