Job summary

Community Action in Aroostook, Washington and Hancock Counties is seeking a Teacher Aide to support classroom activities and field trips. You will assist the Teacher in planning, preparing, and implementing activities, while helping oversee meals, records, and parent engagement.

Qualifications

• Less than one year of experience in a child care setting is required.
• Classroom experience in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
• Ability to plan for individual child needs and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist Teacher in planning and preparing all classroom activities and field trips.
• Record observations and help plan programs to meet children's physical, social, emotional, and educational needs.
• Prepare and supervise nutritious meals and snacks as required by the program.
• Share in maintenance of center, equipment, and supplies.
• Serve as bus monitor as necessary per licensing requirements.
• Complete programmatic and agency reports as required.
• Assist with home visits and parent conferences; develop individual plans for children based on screenings.
