Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District seeks an Instructional Assistant - Preschool to support teachers in a primary setting. You will work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning goals and help implement classroom activities.

This role requires a high school diploma, good attendance, ability to lift up to 30 lbs, and willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR. Workdays are Monday through Friday, 10:45am to 6:15pm, 35 hours weekly, at Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent attendance record required.
• Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification and keep certifications current.
• Must pass a background clearance.
• Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• Able to bend and lift 30 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Six months of child care experience if working with enrolled children five years old and younger.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or groups to reinforce learning objectives and goals.
• Guide independent study, enrichment, and remedial work set up by the teacher.
• Check class work, grade papers, and supervise testing as assigned by the teacher.
• Serve as primary assistant to substitute teachers in absence of regular teacher.
• Alert the teacher to any problems and maintain confidentiality of information.
• Participate in in-service training and school events as required.
• Assist with lunch, snack, recess, and cleanup routines.
• Meet students at the bus each morning and accompany them to the bus in the afternoon.
• Assist with wash-up and diaper routines as needed.
• Operate and care for classroom equipment and assistive technology.
• Supervise students in all school settings and refer questions to the teacher.
