Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District is accepting applications for Substitute Instructional Assistants on an ongoing basis. You will provide instruction to students based on lesson plans in the absence of the classroom teacher and should be able to improvise as needed. Reports to the Principal, Classroom Teacher, and District Substitute Specialist.

Compensation is $113 per full day or $56.50 per half day. This role is as needed and requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent and AZ IVP

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• AZ State IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Three references (please add email addresses for each reference in your application; one needs to be a current or previous supervisor).
• Copies of all above listed documents must be attached to the online application at time of submission.
• Incomplete applications will be closed after 30 days of receipt.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills introduced by the teacher or reinforcing individual IEP goals.
• Guide independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up by the classroom teacher.
• Check class work, grade papers and supervise testing as assigned by the teacher.
• Alert the classroom teacher to any problems.
• Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as is expected of teachers.
• Assist students with lunch, snack, recess and cleanup routines.
• Assist students with wash-up and toilet routines, including changing diapers.
• Operate and care for equipment and assistive technology used in the classroom.
• Assist with student supervision in all school settings.
• Refer all parent questions/concerns directly and immediately to classroom teacher.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or designee.
