Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District is seeking a Student Support - Classified staff member at Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary to assist with student supervision, classroom tasks and elementary-level activities.

The position supports teachers under supervision, requires strong communication and organization, and includes non-exempt payroll status with part-time hours across the school week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).
• Ability to work well with students, staff and parents; good verbal and written communication.
• Ability to operate general office machines.
• Ability to organize and to prioritize.
• Experience working with elementary level students.
• Must pass a background clearance
• Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

Responsibilities

• Works with individual students or groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
• Assists independent study, enrichment work and remedial work for the classroom.
• Maintains confidentiality and ethical standards consistent with teachers.
• Participates in in-service training programs as required.
• Assists with supervision during drills, assemblies, play and lunch periods and field trips.
• Confers with teacher and parents to assist in evaluating student progress.
