Job Description:

We are launching a licensed preschool and daycare center in Alexandria, VA, and seeking a highly experienced consultant to support us through the licensing, zoning, facility setup, and compliance process.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in child care regulations in Virginia, experience working with VDOE licensing, and preferably knowledge of City of Alexandria’s planning/zoning requirements.

Responsibilities Include:

• Leading the application process for VDOE Child Day Center License
• Assisting with Special Use Permit (SUP) and zoning compliance
• Reviewing facility layout for ADA and licensing standards
• Preparing for pre-licensure inspection and other regulatory visits
• Supporting development of operational procedures, staff policies, and enrollment materials

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in child care licensing or preschool program development
• Familiarity with Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) licensing requirements
• Knowledge of Alexandria permitting and SUP processes a major plus
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience in working with new or first-time preschool operators preferred
