Job summary

The Allegheny Intermediate Unit is seeking a Preschool Early Intervention Itinerant Special Education Teacher to provide developmentally appropriate services to 3- to 5-year-olds in their least restrictive environment across Penn Hills and Wilkinsburg.

The role requires PA certifications PK-8; travel across the county; collaboration with families and IEP teams; and alignment with OCDEL service delivery in preschool, childcare, or home settings.

Qualifications

• Valid PA certification in Special Education PK-8 is required.
• PA certification in Early Childhood PK-4 is preferred.
• Experience with preschool population and IEP development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group special education services aligned with IEPs and collaborate with families and staff.
• Screen and assess children to determine eligibility for preschool early intervention.
• Maintain required paperwork (reevaluations, IEPs, data) for compliance.
• Manage caseload schedule for consistent service delivery across regions.
• Stay current with best practices and Preschool Early Intervention requirements.
• Partner with stakeholders to support families and promote student outcomes.
