Job summary

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit #23 is seeking a Long-term Substitute Itinerant Teacher for Early Intervention to serve children ages 3-5. This role operates within the Office of Early Childhood Services – Early Intervention and requires travel across one of four regions in Montgomery County.

Qualifications include PA certification in Special Education PK-12/PK-8; Early Childhood PK-4 preferred. Experience as a classroom teacher and collaboration with therapists are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid PA certification in Special Education PK-12/PK-8 required.
• Valid PA certification in Early Childhood PK-4 (N-3) preferred.
• Experience as a classroom teacher required.
• Experience working as a member of an educational team.
• Experience with 3-5 year olds preferred.
• Current police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required.
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government.

Responsibilities

• Plan instruction and manage the classroom.
• Responsible for IEPs.
• Align instruction with PA Learning Standards for Early Childhood Education.
• Collaborate with therapists to provide a developmental instructional program.
• Maintain regular communication with families about progress.
• Oversee and document IEPs and evaluation reports.
• Gather data about student progress toward learning outcomes.
