Job description

Join to apply for the Preschool Cook role at Indianapolis Public Schools.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare all meals and snacks following issued menus and directives.
2. Keep accurate records including inventory and production records.
3. Comply with all Center regulations, guidelines, and all regulatory agency requirements.
4. Wash kitchenware and tableware.
5. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and appliances.
6. Complete food orders and grocery shopping as needed.
7. Inventory food supplies and report needs to the Associate Director.
8. Report maintenance or non-food supply needs.
9. Assist with ordering supplies if requested.
10. Properly store and date all food items at correct temperatures.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent, with experience in food service and/or nutrition.
• Preferred: five years of professional experience in food service and/or nutrition.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Ability to lift 40 pounds.
• Ability to reach overhead.
• Good personal hygiene and grooming.
• Ability to bend and perform finger dexterity tasks.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively in all documents and verbally.
• Remain calm in crisis situations.
