Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is seeking a Preschool Instructional Assistant to support teaching staff in safe, healthy preschool classrooms across Oregon. You will supervise children, assist with daily routines, and help implement learning activities while communicating respectfully with families and staff.

This role requires flexibility to cover breaks or short absences and meets Oregon Early Learning Division requirements for higher levels within four months.

Qualifications

• No prior education or experience is required for this position.
• Preschool CDA certificate or equivalent required for higher levels; metro locations pay more.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching staff in maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing preschool classroom environment.
• Supervise preschool-age children in classrooms and on playgrounds using positive guidance techniques.
• Assist with daily routines, including toileting, dressing, meals, and transitions.
• Help implement daily classroom activities such as free play, story time, and learning centers.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness, including disinfecting toys and furniture and replenishing supplies.
• Communicate respectfully and positively with children, families, and staff.
• Assist with basic record keeping and classroom documentation as assigned.
• Provide classroom coverage to maintain child-to-teacher ratios during staff breaks or short absences.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
