Job summary

Seattle Public Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support teachers and students in developmentally appropriate early learning environments. You will help implement lesson plans, arrange a safe classroom, and assist with records and communications.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with options for further college study or Praxis Parapro; one year of related paid work is preferred. Valid WA driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; one of: associate degree, two years of college (72 quarter hours/48 semester hours), or Praxis Parapro assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assist assigned teacher with planning and implementation of activities.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and attendance.
• Monitor students in various settings to ensure safety and positive learning environment.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials and classroom resources.
• Communicate with teachers and parents regarding student progress and objectives.
