Job summary

Washington Elementary School District is seeking a paraprofessional aide to assist teachers in a classroom setting, prepare materials, and work with students individually or in groups. The role includes monitoring students during recess, communicating with parents, and helping implement lesson plans.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED with college credit or an associate degree, or passed paraprofessional testing; CPR may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus 60 college credits or an associate's degree or successfully passed an Arizona paraprofessional test.
• Six months of working with children in a learning environment or related experience.
• CPR certification within 30 days of hire is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in classroom activities and prepare materials for lessons.
• Provide individual or small-group support to students on assignments and projects.
• Demonstrate skills and techniques to aid student learning and monitor behavior.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
• Prepare classrooms and photocopy materials; monitor students on playground and in cafeteria.
• Assist in planning and coordinating lesson plans with feedback from students.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
