Job summary

Cherokee County School District is seeking a paraprofessional to support classroom instruction and activities as part of the School Leadership and Operations division. This 180-day, 7.5-hour day position reports to the Principal or Designee and works under the supervision of certified staff to implement instructional plans and accommodations.

The role emphasizes assisting with student learning, behavior support, and data collection, in alignment with IEPs and health plans.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree or higher mandated by PSC.
• GACE Ethics Assessment required.
• GACE Paraprofessional Assessment required.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom learning using approved instructional strategies.
• Assist selected students in various classroom settings.
• Follow plans or accommodations from IEP/behavior/health plans.
• Assist with specialized duties to meet individual student needs.
• Use hardware, software and assistive technology as directed.
• Provide feedback on student performance to teachers/administration.
• Run small-group or individual activities per lesson plans.
• Assist with assessment, grading and data collection.
