Job summary

Cherokee County School District in Georgia seeks a paraprofessional to support classroom teachers in providing educational opportunities for each student. This 180-day, 7.5-hour-per-day position reports to the principal and uses prescribed instructional strategies.

Responsibilities include assisting with IEPs and behavior plans, preparing instructional materials, supervising students in classrooms and on buses, and helping with assessment, data collection, and progress reporting to staff.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent per PSC rules.
• Passing the GACE Ethics Assessment is required.
• Passing the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment is required.

Responsibilities

• Uses instructional strategies prescribed by personnel to support learning.
• Provide support to students in resource, self-contained and regular classrooms.
• Assist with plans such as IEP, behavior, and healthcare plans as required.
• Assist with preparation of instructional materials and learning centers.
• Supervise students including bus loading/unloading and classroom supervision.
