Job summary

Cadence Education is seeking a Preschool Teacher Assistant for our Burlington, CT location. Under the School Director, you will support daily activities and help maintain a safe, nurturing classroom environment that supports children’s development, including those with IEPs.

You will collaborate with Lead Teachers, implement Cadence Education programs, and communicate with families using approved tools. Prior childcare or early education experience is preferred, and state licensing requirements

Qualifications

• Ability to follow safety procedures including allergy processes and Safe Sleep practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a classroom team.
• Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Support a positive and respectful classroom environment.
• Greet children and families daily and build welcoming relationships.
• Assist in recognizing individual developmental and learning needs and follow IEPs.
• Support planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and Cadence Signature Programs.
• Communicate professionally with families and leadership using Cadence-approved tools.
• Follow the Cadence Education Safety and Supervision Manual and document incidents.
• Assist with managing and reporting escalated child behaviors.
• Adhere to all Cadence policies in the Employee Handbook.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development.
