Job summary

Oakland Human Resources Consortium seeks a Paraprofessional for the 120 Preschool Child Care (Edustaff) program at Simonds Elementary for the 2026/2027 school year. Work schedule: Monday–Friday 6:30–8:30 AM and 3:30–6:00 PM. Pay Rate: $16.00-$17.50 based on education and experience.

Responsibilities include supervising children, assisting with meals and daily routines, and supporting curriculum delivery under supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification in Standard First Aid.
• Must complete and pass a fitness for duty physical.
• Background checks required including Michigan childcare license program.
• Willingness to participate in staff development.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children with a safe, harmonious environment under guidance of the Director.
• Assist with meals, snacks, and clean-up routines.
• Support classroom and playground activities following prepared lesson plans.
• Establish positive relationships with parents and staff.
• Maintain a professional and respectful attitude at all times.
