Job summary

Community Colleges of Spokane is seeking a Head Start Preschool Associate Teacher (Early Childhood Program Specialist 2) for a 12-month position. Under the Center Manager and Lead Teacher, you will implement curriculum and manage daily classroom operations to support young learners.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA credential or state certificates.
• Knowledge of early childhood education theory and practices.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain when offered.
• Experience in an early childhood program.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in classroom and outside daily routines to support learning opportunities.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and documenting curriculum.
• Assess developmental needs and track progress, including children with disabilities.
• Conduct developmental screenings, provide referrals, and involve families.
• Promote children’s health through health plans and special diet needs.
• Support home visits, CIP plans, and family transition planning.
• Maintain required records and supplies; assist Lead Teacher as needed.
• Collaborate with classroom team and represent HS/EHS in communities.
• Attend trainings and read program updates to stay informed.
