Job summary

Community Colleges of Spokane is seeking a Head Start Associate Teacher – Preschool to support classroom operations under the supervision of the Lead Teacher. This 12-month position focuses on implementing the curriculum and daily routines in a Head Start/Early Head Start setting.

The role involves assisting with developmentally appropriate activities, documenting progress, maintaining health and safety standards, and collaborating with families and the Direct Service Team to plan individualized

Qualifications

Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or CDA credential.
State-awarded certificate in Early Childhood Education - Infant Toddler Care or General.
Enrollment in a program leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree within one year of hire.
Knowledge of early childhood education theory and practices.
First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

Participate in classroom and outside daily routines and activities.
Assist in development, implementation, and documentation of an early childhood curriculum.
Assess developmental needs and track progress; assist with individual learning opportunities.
Assist in developmental screenings, referrals, and family involvement in planning.
Assist with maintaining documentation and records.
Work as part of the Direct Service Team to provide integrated services to children and families.
