Job summary

Armed Services YMCA of The U S A is seeking staff to assist the teacher in delivering an enriching early childhood program on Marine Corp Base Hawaii. You will support morning circles, learning centers and closing circles, while modeling positive behavior for children and families.

The role includes preparing materials, informing parents about child development, and ensuring classroom safety and organization.

Qualifications

• Experience working with preschool age children.
• Willingness to stand and sit throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher develop and deliver an enriching early learning program.
• Vary activities to provide different developmental opportunities.
• Model behaviors for children and families and implement a behavior plan.
• Inform parents on child development through discussions and progress reports.
• Prepare materials prior to each preschool session.
• Interact with parents/caregivers and children in a positive manner.
• Follow all Child Abuse reporting procedures.
• Maintain attendance and communicate with Branch Director.
• Submit weekly rosters and monthly lesson plans for review.
• Fill out timesheets accurately and on time.
• Maintain orderly classroom and organize toys/materials daily.
• Ensure toys/equipment are safe and report needs.
