Job summary

Umatilla-Morrow Head Start, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Teacher Assistant to support preschool classrooms. You will assist the Teacher in planning and delivering activities, supervise children, and help with daily routines, nutrition, and safety.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; CDA or ECE certificate or higher; Head Start experience preferred. First Aid/CPR/Food Handler preferred.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is required.
• CDA credential, ORO preschool certificate (step 7+), 15-credit ECE certificate, or associate degree or higher in ECE are acceptable.
• First Aid, CPR, and Food Handler cards preferred.
• Head Start experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Teacher in preparing, implementing, and evaluating daily activities.
• Assist the Teacher in ensuring children are taught and supervised consistently.
• Ensure all children are within sight and sound at all times.
• Take the responsibility for the children when the Teacher is not present.
• Lead for 5 children in the classroom and track/document goals.
• Assist with daily child care routines and safety.
