Job summary

UMATILLA-MORROW Head Start, Inc. seeks an early childhood education teacher to implement preschool programs that are safe, nurturing, and rich in learning.

You will partner with families to set school readiness goals spanning social, emotional, educational, physical, and nutritional development. You will coordinate with health, behavioral health, family services, and nutrition staff to support the whole child and family, plan developmentally appropriate activities, conduct home visits, and

Qualifications

• Head Start or Early Head Start experience preferred.
• CPR, First Aid and Food Handler credentials required.
• Ability to coordinate and/or conduct training sessions preferred.
• Multi-cultural experience preferred.
• Enroll in Oregon Registry Online to obtain Step Certificate (if not already)

Responsibilities

• Plan daily/weekly activities and develop individual goals for children.
• Develop and implement Education/Disabilities components in classroom.
• Conduct Parent/Staff conferences as needed and encourage parent participation.
• Coordinate home visits and family engagement activities.
• Communicate with health, nutrition, and family services staff to support the child and family.
• Supervise and support Teacher Assistant and other classroom staff.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and developmentally appropriate learning environments.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing professional development.

Skills

BA in ECE or related field

Associates/ECE or CDA or Step 8 in ORO with experience
