The Guidance Center is hiring an Assistant Teacher to support early childhood programs. You will help plan and implement HighScope-based activities, maintain a safe and nurturing classroom, and ensure compliance with Head Start and local policies.

The role emphasizes cultural competence and teamwork within a supportive setting. Qualified candidates hold an AA in ECE or related field, or a Preschool CDA (or in CDA program to complete within two years), and have experience with preschoolers.

Formación

• AA in ECE or related field with 12 ECE credits or a CDA credential.
• Enrollment in a program leading to an associate or bachelor degree or CDA program to be completed within 2 years.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Experience with preschool children in a classroom setting.

Responsabilidades

• Assist planning and implementing early childhood activities based on the Preschool HighScope curriculum.
• Provide a clean, nurturing, safe environment that supports growth and development.
• Adhere to Head Start standards and local/state policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
• Pass physical examination and background checks before hire.
