Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with 15 credits in ECE.
• At least one year of teaching experience.
• Ability to relate positively to children, parents, and staff.
• Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards and NAEYC guidelines.
• DC local and Federal background checks are required.

Responsibilities

• Support team in creating weekly lesson plans aligned with Head Start standards.
• Supervise staff and volunteers, and share daily lesson plans with the team.
• Review curriculum plans with leaders to improve instructional practice.
• Ensure Head Start, NAEYC, and DC regulations are followed in daily activities.
• Document child progress and maintain portfolios.
