Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking an Assistant Teacher / Bus Driver for Head Start Preschool in Hamlet, NC. The role combines classroom support with safe school transportation, offering growth opportunities, benefits, and a stable Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with CDA preferred/required for I level
• Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field preferred for II level
• EDU 119 required
• CDL required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and submit to random drug screenings
• Valid driver’s license required

• Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development
• Maintain classroom documentation and records
• Supervise children in classroom and outdoor settings

Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking a caring, dependable professional to support our Head Start preschool classrooms while also assisting with the safe transportation of children to and from school. Starting Rate: Up to $18.50 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday 6:45am-2:45pm (40 hours/week)

Qualifications

• Assistant Teacher/ Bus Driver I: High School Diploma/ GED & Child Development Associate (CDA). Six months to one year of related experience preferred
• Assistant Teacher/ Bus Driver II: Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field preferred. Six months to one year of related experience preferred
• EDU 119 required
• CDL required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain

Physical Requirements
Must be able to actively supervise young children in classroom and outdoor environments, assist children on and off the bus, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
