Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. in Hamlet, NC seeks Substitute Assistant Teachers to support Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms.

This on-demand, part-time role fits dependable individuals who enjoy working with young children and can adapt to different classrooms and daily needs. You will assist teachers with daily activities, support learning and development, supervise children, help with meals and routines, and maintain a clean, organized classroom.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EDU 119 or CDA preferred.
• Experience working with young children preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test.

• Assist classroom teachers with daily activities.
• Support children’s learning and development.
• Help maintain classroom cleanliness and organization.
• Supervise children during classroom and outdoor activities.

Up to $101 per day

Schedule: On Demand. Part-time position; Monday–Friday 6:45am-3:30pm

Physical Requirements

Must be able to actively supervise young children, move throughout classroom environments, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
