Job summary

Hire Up Recruiting is seeking an experienced Assistant Director for a brand-new preschool in the Hewitt, TX area. The role requires strong leadership and communication skills, a love for children, and a commitment to high-quality early education.

This is a direct hire position with year-round, Monday–Friday operations. The ideal candidate will oversee program leadership, compliance, staff development, curriculum implementation, family engagement, and enrollment support, reporting to the Center

Qualifications

• REQUIRED Education: High school diploma or GED; CDA or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
• REQUIRED Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of management experience in a licensed childcare center; five (5) preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in handling children and assist with infant support.
• Must meet background check eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily operation of the Child Development Center to ensure safe, high-quality early childhood education services.
• Assist with implementing center policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives; support budget monitoring and resource utilization.
• Help maintain accurate documentation and records required for licensing, funding, accreditation, and reporting.
• Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and feedback to teaching staff to strengthen instructional quality and classroom management.
• Support staff recruitment, onboarding, orientation, training, scheduling, supervision, and performance management.
• Assist with curriculum implementation, lesson planning, and child assessments; ensure developmentally appropriate practices.
