Job summary

The Learning Experience in Texas is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Preschool Center Director with daycare or preschool experience. Lead by example, support daily operations, and help maintain a compliant, safe and welcoming environment for children and families.

You will assist with recruitment, training, coaching, and engagement of teachers and staff, and help drive enrollment and financial goals while stepping into the Center Director role when needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ year in a leadership or management role in childcare or preschool.
• Experience in early childhood education or related field.
• Willingness to obtain state Administrative/Director credentials.
• Strong knowledge of state licensing rules and best practices.
• Excellent communication, organization and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Center Director with daily operations and overall center management.
• Foster a positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment for families and staff.
• Ensure compliance with state/local licensing, health and safety standards, and policies.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and staff engagement.
• Guide teachers in implementing the curriculum and creating engaging learning experiences.
• Build relationships with families and provide outstanding customer service.
• Aid in staff scheduling, classroom coverage, ratios and attendance.
• Support enrollment inquiries, tours, follow-ups, and community outreach.
• Maintain center records, billing, payroll and other administrative tasks.
• Monitor classroom quality, cleanliness, organization and safety standards.
• Assist Center Director in achieving enrollment, retention, operational and financial goals.
• Step into Center Director role when needed and provide team leadership.
