The Learning Experience in Plainfield, IN is seeking an Assistant Center Director to partner with the Center Director in leading daily operations, supporting teachers, building relationships with families, and helping the center grow.

This role focuses on staff development, licensing compliance, enrollment growth, and center performance, with duties ranging from tours to staffing, coaching, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of childcare leadership or management experience.
• Strong early childhood classroom experience.
• Knowledge of Indiana childcare licensing, health and safety, ratios, and supervision requirements.
• Ability to coach, motivate, and hold employees accountable.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable communicating with current and prospective families.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced childcare environment.
• Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead with Center Director in daily operations.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, and development of teachers.
• Monitor classrooms for proper ratios, health and safety, and licensing compliance.
• Coach teachers on curriculum implementation, classroom management, and quality standards.
• Build relationships with children, families and staff.
• Conduct center tours and support enrollment growth.
• Assist with staffing schedules, attendance, breaks, and labor management.
• Support enrollment, community marketing, and center events.
• Assist with administrative responsibilities including enrollment records and payroll review.
• Identify and resolve operational issues before they impact the center.

Are you an early childhood professional ready to grow into a leadership role?

The Learning Experience (TLE) in Plainfield is seeking an energetic, dependable, and passionate Assistant Center Director to partner with our Center Director in leading daily operations, supporting teachers, building relationships with families, and helping our center grow.

Our ACD plays an important leadership role across staff development, licensing and safety, curriculum, family experience, enrollment, and center operations.

What You'll Do

• Lead by example and help create a positive, professional, and accountable center culture.
• Partner with the Center Director in managing daily center operations.
• Serve as a center leader when the Center Director is unavailable.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching, and development of teachers.
• Monitor classrooms for proper ratios, active supervision, health and safety, and licensing compliance.
• Coach teachers on curriculum implementation, classroom management, and quality standards.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, and employees.
• Conduct center tours and follow up with prospective families to support enrollment growth.
• Help address parent questions and concerns professionally and promptly.
• Assist with staffing schedules, employee attendance, breaks, timekeeping, and labor management.
• Support family retention, enrollment, community marketing, and center events.
• Assist with employee documentation, enrollment records, billing follow-up, payroll/timekeeping review, and other administrative responsibilities.
• Help identify and resolve operational issues before they impact children, families, employees, or center performance.

What We're Looking For

• 1+ year of childcare leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
• Strong early childhood classroom experience.
• Knowledge of Indiana childcare licensing, health and safety, ratios, and supervision requirements.
• Ability to coach, motivate, and hold employees accountable.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable communicating with current and prospective families.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced childcare environment.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, Education, or related field preferred.
• Must meet applicable Indiana childcare center leadership requirements.
• Dependable, professional, positive, and passionate about early childhood education.
