Creative Learning Center in Redwood City is now hiring Full-time Preschool Aides starting at $20/hr with benefits!

CLC, a Learn It Family of Companies division, is a certified K–12 Private Day School designed to meet the academic and social needs of children requiring a highly individualized behavioral and educational setting. We offer training and mentorship for candidates with limited experience!

This position is ideal for candidates interested in working with children with special needs and making a positive impact. It is also suitable for those with backgrounds in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or Healthcare.

Certification supervision is available for candidates seeking BCBA certification or internships in a teaching credential. Additionally, candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree in any field who pass the CBEST can apply to the CA Department of Education to become a Substitute Teacher.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct instructional support to individual and/or groups of students, monitoring their ability to follow directions and behaviors.
  • Implement treatment plans using ABA techniques.
  • Collect data on student progress towards goals/objectives as directed by licensed staff.
  • Assist staff in maintaining charts and records related to student progress.
  • Reinforce academic behaviors taught by licensed staff and provide opportunities for practice.
  • Assist students in community, recreational, school, and leisure activities under staff supervision.
  • Implement district-approved techniques for verbal de-escalation and safe physical restraint, such as Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by building administration and licensed staff.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years’ experience working with children in a special needs education setting is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to collaborate and accept feedback, mentoring, and guidance from peers and supervisors.
  • Maintain a professional and clinical perspective at all times, managing emotional responses to student behaviors.
  • Experience in physical safety techniques, including Crisis Management Interventions and therapeutic holds.
  • Ability to assume and sustain various postures (stoop, reach, stand, kneel, squat, sit, walk, lift, pull, grasp) for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds frequently.
