Afternoon and Afterschool Transitional Kindergarten Aide

Schedule: Part-Time | Monday – Friday, 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Hourly Rate: $21.75 – $26.00 per hour

Our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program provides young learners with the foundational skills they need to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. We are seeking a dedicated Afternoon and Afterschool TK Aide to join our team and support our mission of cultivating confident, curious, and compassionate students.

Position Overview

As the Afternoon and Afterschool TK Aide, you will support our Transitional Kindergarten classroom by assisting the lead teacher and extended care staff. You will help create a warm, safe, and stimulating environment that encourages children to explore, grow, and reach their potential. The ideal candidate is dependable, collaborative, and passionate about early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities, including lunch, naptime, and instructional support.
  • Support extended care programming under the direction of the extended care teacher.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
  • Model positive behavior and support students’ cognitive, emotional, and physical development.
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately with children, staff, and families.
  • Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship with colleagues and administrators.
  • Participate in occasional school events outside of regular hours (e.g., Open House, Back to School Night).
  • Take initiative in assisting with additional classroom needs and checking in regularly with the lead teacher.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of child development theory and age-appropriate practices.
  • Familiarity with preschool licensing requirements is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to use school systems and technology platforms effectively.
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to supporting the school community.
