Software Solutions Presales Engineer (IDP / Document Automation)

We’re supporting a fast-growing technology provider in the Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) and document automation space who are looking for a Software Solutions Engineer to act as the technical bridge between sales, product, delivery and customers.

If you enjoy designing smart automation solutions, running discovery workshops, and delivering compelling demos that win deals, this role offers a strong mix of technical depth, customer engagement and solution architecture.

What You’ll Be Doing

Solution Discovery & Consulting

• Run discovery workshops to understand document workflows and automation needs
• Analyse current processes and identify efficiency opportunities
• Translate business requirements into scalable solution designs
• Recommend best-practice approaches for capture, classification, extraction, validation and workflow automation
• Quantify ROI and business value for proposed solutions

Solution Configuration & Demonstrations

• Configure IDP environments for customer use cases
• Build POCs and tailored demo solutions using real customer documents
• Deliver technical presentations, workshops and hands-on sessions
• Guide prospects through evaluations and proof-of-value cycles
• Design end-to-end intelligent automation solutions
• Map document capture, OCR/AI extraction, classification, validation and workflow automation
• Define integrations with ERP, CRM, ECM and other enterprise systems
• Produce architecture diagrams, documentation and implementation recommendations
• Define scope, assumptions, dependencies and implementation requirements
• Create SOWs, project estimates and deployment plans
• Assess complexity and provide level-of-effort estimates
• Support handoff to professional services and implementation teams
• Partner with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle
• Support RFP/RFI responses and technical evaluations
• Maintain credibility with both business and IT stakeholders
• Contribute to sales strategy and competitive positioning

What You Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or similar (or equivalent experience)
• Up to 4 years in Pre-Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, Solution Architecture or Professional Services
• Experience configuring enterprise software solutions
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Ability to gather/document business & technical requirements
• Understanding of implementation methodologies and project scoping
• Ability to create technical documentation, process flows and solution designs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel up to 50%
• Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), OCR, Document AI, Content Services, Workflow Automation, RPA or BPM
• Knowledge of document-centric processes (AP, invoices, claims, loans, onboarding, mailroom, contracts)
• Familiarity with APIs, web services, databases and enterprise integrations
• Understanding of machine learning and AI-based extraction/classification
• Experience estimating implementation projects and preparing SOWs
