Job summary

Vertiv Group Corporation in the United States is seeking an AMER Presales Electrical Engineer to shape modular data center solutions, integrating AI-driven technologies and scalable infrastructure.

You will work with Solution Architects and Sales during early engagement, perform concept design of electrical systems, CAD modeling, and coordination with architectural, structural, HVAC, and controls teams to develop compelling proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Proficient in electrical power system design.
• 3+ years of experience.
• CAD capabilities including layouts and electrical schematics; UPS, DC, LV and MV systems.
• Knowledge of short-circuit and protection coordination modeling.
• Solution-based thinking integrating mechanical and electrical components.

Responsibilities

• Reading and understanding RFP and tender documents.
• Reading and understanding customer requirements from Solution Architects and Sales.
• Concept design of electrical system architecture and equipment.
• Understanding codes and standards for electrical power equipment and installations.
• CAD Modeling.
• Coordination with architectural, structural, HVAC, controls, fire protection teams.
• Technical project coordination with customers and suppliers.
• Communicating with customers to propose best solutions.
• Proposing electrical design for Vertiv modular/hybrid data center solutions.
• Providing electrical design documents.
• Solving problems and interpreting customer requirements in proposed solutions.
• Support SA and sales teams

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reading and understanding RFP and tender documents
• Reading and understanding customer requirements provided by Solution Architects and Sales team

• Understanding of relevant codes and standards for electrical power equipment and installations

• Coordination with other technical disciplines (architectural, structural, HVAC, controls, fire protection)

• Making technical proposals for Vertiv modular/hybrid solutions data centers
• Providing electrical design documents
• Problem solving and interpretation of customer requirements in proposed solutions
• Support SA and sales team

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering
• Proficient in Electrical power system design
• 3+ years of experience
• Good CAD capabilities including the ability to represent layouts and electrical schematic diagrams, as well as specifics of custom electrical sub-systems associated with Uninterruptable Power Supplies, DC systems, LV and MV power distribution systems, diesel gensets
• Dimensioning and specification of electrical equipment and installations
• Knowledge of short circuit and protection coordination study calculations and modeling tools
• Solution-based thinking that will incorporate a multitude of Mechanical and Electrical components in end-customer deployment
• Solid communication skills, both written and oral, to work across multiple Engineering and Manufacturing teams to bring architecture and concepts to deployment
• PC skills: active user of Windows, MS Office incl. Excel (A), Word (A), AutoCAD
• Active English
