Job summary

Vertiv is seeking an AMER Presales Electrical Engineer to join our Infrastructure Solutions team and help shape modular data center solutions for global IT and industrial customers. You will lead electrical system concepts and collaborate with Solution Architects and Sales early in customer programs, leveraging emerging technologies to support scalable, efficient infrastructure.

The role requires strong electrical power design expertise, CAD capabilities, and cross-disciplinary coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical power system design.
• Proficient CAD capabilities for layouts and electrical schematics (UPS, DC, LV/MV, gensets)

Responsibilities

• Read and understand RFP and tender documents.
• Read and understand customer requirements from Solution Architects and Sales team.
• Concept design of electrical system architecture and equipment.
• Understand relevant codes and standards for electrical power equipment.
• CAD Modeling.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, HVAC, controls, fire protection disciplines.
• Technical project coordination with customers and suppliers.
• Communicate with customers to propose best solutions.
• Make technical proposals for Vertiv modular/hybrid data center solutions.
• Provide electrical design documents.
• Interpret customer requirements for proposed solutions.
• Support Solutions Architects and sales team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reading and understanding RFP and tender documents
• Reading and understanding customer requirements provided by Solution Architects and Sales team

• Problem solving and interpretation of customer requirements in proposed solutions
• Support SA and sales team

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering
• Proficient in Electrical power system design
• 3+ years of experience
• Good CAD capabilities including the ability to represent layouts and electrical schematic diagrams, as well as specifics of custom electrical sub-systems associated with Uninterruptable Power Supplies, DC systems, LV and MV power distribution systems, diesel gensets
• Dimensioning and specification of electrical equipment and installations
• Knowledge of short circuit and protection coordination study calculations and modeling tools
• Solution-based thinking that will incorporate a multitude of Mechanical and Electrical components in end-customer deployment
• Solid communication skills, both written and oral, to work across multiple Engineering and Manufacturing teams to bring architecture and concepts to deployment
• PC skills: active user of Windows, MS Office incl. Excel (A), Word (A), AutoCAD
• Active English
