Job summary

The Print Site / One Book at a Time Publishing, a long‑established commercial printer in Addison, Texas, seeks an experienced Prepress / Production Artist to transition from a retiring veteran. This is a technical role, not just graphic design, requiring real-world understanding of how customer files become printed products.

Responsibilities include preflighting PDFs, preparing files for print, using InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat, correcting bleeds and color issues, and

Qualifications

• Commercial printing and prepress experience preferred.
• Strong production fundamentals, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability are important.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technology is valued.

Responsibilities

• Preflight and troubleshoot customer PDFs and native files.
• Prepare files for digital and commercial print production.
• Work in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat.
• Correct bleeds, page sizes, resolution, fonts, color and other production issues.
• Create and modify layouts and customer artwork.
• Prepare and impose files for production.
• Produce and review proofs; work with book interiors and covers.
• Communicate file problems clearly to customers and production staff.
• Help develop repeatable, documented production procedures.
