Job summary

Japs-Olson Company in Saint Louis Park, MN is seeking a Proofer/Prepress MAC Operator to prepare customer files for high-quality commercial print production. You will review, preflight, and optimize artwork to meet customer specifications and production requirements, producing proofs and print-ready PDFs.

You will work closely with Customer Service and Production teams to resolve file issues, support plate production, and help jobs move efficiently through the manufacturing process.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proficiency in Prepress software including Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Acrobat, Prinergy, and MS Office.
• Strong time management and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; clear production instruction interpretation.
• Attention to detail and high quality standards; reliable on-site presence.

Responsibilities

• Download, preflight, and validate customer files ensuring fonts, images, color profiles, bleeds, trims, and layouts meet requirements.
• Prepare, modify, and optimize artwork files for production with correct formatting and color accuracy.
• Generate accurate proofs and print-ready PDFs with high quality and attention to detail.
• Identify and troubleshoot artwork/production concerns with stakeholders for timely resolution.
• Perform quality checks throughout prepress to ensure compliance with specs and standards.
• Support CT P operations and plate production activities for the Press Department.
