Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Austin, TX is seeking a Prepared Foods Team Leader to assist in scheduling and supervising Team Members, oversee compelling displays, and support the Team Leaders to ensure smooth operation of the Prepared Foods department.

You will train and mentor new associates, maintain clean, well‑stocked cases, manage openings and closings, and uphold health, safety, and regulatory standards while delivering friendly, attentive service that reflects WFM core values.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of Prepared Foods team procedures and policies.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
• Capable of teaching others in a positive and constructive manner.
• Product knowledge.
• Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
• Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.
• Demonstrated decision‑making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate.
• Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations‑related applications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and delegate tasks to Prepared Foods Team Members.
• Train Team Members with trainer materials to sustain high performance.
• Assist in training of new Team Members.
• Keep cases and shelves clean, stocked, rotated.
• Open and close department per procedures.
• Ensure breaks are given.
• Communicate team concerns to the leaders.
• Set and achieve high standards of retail execution.
• Foster teamwork, respect, morale.
• Monitor customer flow and direct Team Members to satisfy customers.
• Provide performance evaluations.
• Communicate company vision and goals.
