Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Asheville, NC is hiring for a prepared foods merchandiser role responsible for ordering, replenishing, and merchandising prepared foods, while supporting regional programs and promotions. You will monitor inventory, help with displays, provide courteous service, and work with Kitchen Manager and Team Leader on ordering needs, pricing, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of Buying/Merchandising experience.
• Experience with inventory control and promotions.
• Strong customer service skills and teamwork.
• Able to follow procedures and comply with health/safety rules.
• Proficient with MS Word/Excel/Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Purchases and replenishes food for preparation.
• Monitors open PO reports for purchases and credits.
• Controls spoilage and shrink; participates in inventory.
• Completes required worksheets (spoilage, temperature, sweep).
• Assists with counter service and cooks as scheduled.
• Communicates ordering needs to Kitchen Manager/Chef and Team Leader.
• Maintains relationships with vendors.
• Cost recipes with Team Leader.
• Oversees customer special order procedure.
• Supports inventories.
• Maintains profitability by meeting purchasing/sales targets.
• Arrives on time; adheres to SOPs and trainings.
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling.
• Maximizes sales via prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, merchandising.
• Follows WFM procedures including health, sanitation.
• Maintains clean/shopping environment; equipment safety.
• Performs opening, mid, closing duties; checks pricing.
• Reports safety hazards and violations.
