Mighty Bread Company - Line Cook Position

Mighty Bread Company is a James Beard nominated retail bakery and café in East Passyunk. We are seeking a dedicated line cook to join our growing team.

Are you a cook looking for a reasonable schedule, benefits, and a positive, non-toxic work environment? Join our passionate, hardworking team as we elevate our beloved neighborhood cafe and bakery.

This full-time position includes dedicated prep shifts and line shifts. Availability on Mondays is required; other days are flexible. We need an all-stations cook, and experience in brunch service is a plus but not required.

The ideal candidate has a strong culinary background, is detail-oriented, a team player, and highly organized. If you are eager to learn, positive, and hardworking, we want to meet you.

Essential Functions of the Hybrid Prep Cook / Line Cook Role

• Thorough training to execute all kitchen prep tasks including vegetable prep, meat and cheese slicing, vinaigrettes and sauces, packaging retail goods, and soup preparation.
• Training to execute menu items across all stations to Mighty Bread’s quality standards.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Maintain a safe and clean workspace following food safety procedures.
• Respond positively to direction, feedback, and requests from co-workers and managers.
• Proactively assist other kitchen team members.
• Use Slack, prep sheets, and order guides to engage in department operations.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, and lift for a full 8-hour shift.
• Dexterity and accuracy with knives, slicers, and other kitchen tools.
• Work safely in narrow environments with others.
