Job description

As a line cook at Wegmans, you'll sharpen your culinary skills by preparing menu items for prepackaged meals and hot food bars, helping customers enjoy delicious meals. Responsibilities:

• Deliver incredible customer service by preparing ingredients and creating high-quality meals
• Follow recipes, use proper knife skills, and apply cooking techniques to ensure consistency
• Effectively multitask and balance prep work while ensuring meals are prepared in a timely manner
• Understand how products look and taste at their peak of perfection
• Assist with ordering to help maintain appropriate inventory levels and minimize waste

Requirements:

• 1+ years of experience working in a production kitchen
• Prep work experience

Work includes standing, walking for prolonged periods of time without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, frequent lifting, and occasional heavy lifting, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5 – 10 pounds with a maximum weight lifted to 50 pounds occasionally. Upper extremity repetition is moderately high and trunk movement involves moderately high twisting, bending, and pivoting.
