Job summary

The Ruby Slipper Cafe in New Orleans is seeking a Kitchen Prep/Cook to accurately and efficiently prepare hot foods and assist with plating and garnishes for menu items.

Requirements include a minimum of 1 year of kitchen experience, ability to follow recipes and standards, and clear communication with managers and Krewe members. The role offers a day-shift schedule and benefits including medical, dental, PTO, growth opportunities, family meals and store discounts.

Qualifications

• Maintain clean and sanitary work area and communicate clearly with team.

Job Summary

• Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food products as well as prepare and portion food prior to cooking
• Responsible for performing other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates

• Able to follow Ruby Standards and recipes consistently responsible for the quality of products served
• Complies with our standard portion sizes cooking methods quality standards and kitchen rules policies and procedures
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers kitchen and front of house krewe members
• Be able to reach bend stoop and frequently lift up to 50lbs
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time up to 10 hours
