Job summary

Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group is seeking a dedicated kitchen team member to efficiently prepare hot menu items for our brunch-focused concepts in New Orleans. You will portion, plate, and garnish dishes while maintaining consistent quality.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in kitchen prep and cooking.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team and managers.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must follow standards and recipes to ensure quality.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food items.
• Prepare and portion food prior to cooking.
• Plate and garnish cooked items and add garnishes as needed.
• Assist with kitchen duties and ensure quality control.

Job Summary

Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food products as well as prepare and portion food prior to cooking. Responsible for performing other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates.

• A firm belief that butter and bacon make everything better!
• Able to follow Ruby Standards and recipes consistently – responsible for the quality of products served
• Complies with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and front of house krewe members
• Be able to reach, bend stoop, and frequently lift up to 50lbs
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
