Job summary

Restaurant Associates is hiring a Prep Cook at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden in Henrico, VA. This role prepares food and serves customers in compliance with health standards and recipes, with training provided. Full- and part-time schedules are available, with day, evening, and weekend shifts as required.

The Prep Cook will follow production sheets, taste for quality, and maintain clean stations while upholding HACCP guidelines and safety procedures. Excellent teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess basic cooking knife skills.
• Willing to train!

Responsibilities

• Obtains daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef.
• Prepares items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes.
• Completes and follows daily production worksheets and waste log sheets.
• Operates and cleans equipment per department procedures after each use.
• Stores, labels and dates all food items according to policy; follows HACCP guidelines.
• Completes required documentation, reports, logs as required.
• Complies with health and sanitation regulations and department procedures.
• Takes orders from customers and prepares items requiring short prep time.
• Serves customers in an efficient and friendly manner.
• Completes orders from steam tables and grills and serves customers at multiple stations.
• Uses approved recipes and production standards for quality and portions.
• Follows HACCP guidelines to ensure food quality and safety.
• Resolves customer concerns.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
