Job summary

Water Street Oyster Bar in Corpus Christi, TX is seeking an experienced kitchen associate to help ensure quality food through the Water Street Way. You will follow recipe standards, support station pars, and ensure cleanliness and guest satisfaction while meeting health department guidelines.

This role involves long shifts up to 10 hours, standing, exposure to heat and smoke, and the possibility of cooking tasks. All applicants must be 16+ and obtain a Nueces County Food Handler’s Permit.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 (18 for some culinary duties).
• Ability to work AM/PM shifts as required by management.
• All non-dishwasher roles require English speaking, reading and writing.
• Must obtain Nueces County Food Handler’s Permit.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Water Street Way standards in prep, cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
• Document recipes, usage, and presentation per standards.
• Assist in training kitchen staff and implement systems.
• Follow kitchen station pars and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Stand on prep surfaces and work in hot, smoky kitchen environments.
• Participate in monthly manager meetings and annual evaluations.
