Role Overview

Legends & ASM GLOBAL, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Prep Cook.

Responsible for prepping and preparation of food as directed and performing any cooking, baking, butchering required, and performing any and all duties in the kitchen. Tasks assigned must be completed quickly and efficiently while still abiding by necessary guidelines that will ensure quality standards are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to Health Department and ServSafe regulations.
• Prepare food products as directed by recipe and/or supervisor while maintaining strict adherence to standards and specifications.
• Complete all assigned production priorities daily.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including refrigerators, counters, tables, and storage areas.
• Inform supervisor of any shortages or equipment malfunctions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of food quality, utilization, storage, rotation and consistency.
• Demonstrate practical understanding of kitchen sanitation.
• Assist in plate-up as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in a commercial kitchen, preferred.
• Must have sufficient math ability to perform basic business calculations and pass a basic math skills test.
• Must speak, read, and understand English well enough to converse with customers, supervisors, and employees.
• Must understand written and oral direction and communicate effectively with others.
• Creates and supports a team environment.
• Scheduling flexibility is essential; must be able to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Concentrates work efficiently to meet high demand.
• Can work in a high‑stress environment and in confined spaces for long periods of time.
• Accepts both hot and cold temperature extremes.
• Possesses a pleasant personality and adheres to Uniform Standards policy.
• Can work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Follows irregular and flexible hours as events dictate.
• Attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing work demands and frequent changes.
• Complies with health codes.
• No computer skills required.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to move around the facility, stand for long hours during events.
• May work inside or outside the building as needed by events.
• Ability to lift and push 50 pounds; move heavy wheeled carts (200+ pounds).
• Constant reaching, standing, walking, and stooping.
• Repetitive eye/hand coordination.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Must maintain balance and have good manual dexterity.
