ReciMe is seeking a prep cook in New York City to support on-camera recipe shoots. You’ll shop for groceries, prep ingredients, and assemble dishes so they look camera-ready, while keeping the kitchen organized and safe.

You have relevant kitchen experience, solid knife skills, and thrive in a fast-paced creative environment. This role offers hands-on food prep in a dynamic team focused on engaging food content for our audience.

Qualifications

• Experience in food prep, line cooking, catering, or similar kitchen roles.
• Solid knife skills and knowledge of food safety.
• Strong organization and time management to have everything ready when needed.
• Based in New York City or able to commute easily.
• Bonus: experience on photo or video shoots.
• Bonus: NYC Food Protection Certificate or ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan and buy groceries and ingredients from shot lists and recipes.
• Wash, chop, measure, marinate and portion ingredients ahead of each shoot.
• Cook and assemble dishes so they look fresh and appetizing on camera.
• Prepare “step-by-step” stages of a recipe (raw, mid-cook, finished) when a shoot needs them.
• Keep the kitchen and prep area clean, safe and organized before, during and after shoots.
• Track grocery spend and keep receipts in order.
• Work with the content team to adjust prep as shoot plans change.

About the role

We’re looking for an organized, food-loving Prep Cook to help bring our content shoots to life. You’ll shop for groceries, prep ingredients and get dishes camera-ready, so our team can focus on filming.
